About Us

Who we Are?

The hobby that brings the most peace in life is connecting yourself with nature and creating glass boxes where you can set up a new natural habitat. There is something about getting your hands wet, hardscape with stones, soil and Driftwood, scaping new plants,  fertilizing, nurturing them to grow and feeding fishes. No matter what’s going on around you, when you simply devote yourself to Aquascaping then you will feel restored, calm, happy and proud of what you just accomplished from it.

We started trying to build a brand and a reputation by helping aquarists in multiple ways.

We are a mix of designers, consultants, analyst and strategists with a great passion for all things creative. We love what we do. ASM Group started with 3 hobbyists and we are more than 1000 now in India.

New to Aquarium Hobby?

Thinking about “Nature in a Box” ?

Keeping living things it self a big responsibility. So what you need is CARE with PATIENCE

Basic  Start

  • Identify what size of aquarium best suits for your place. (Never ever think about fish in a bowl because round shaped bowls doesn’t promote oxygenation, can’t add filtration which directly impact the body shape and health of the fish) Choose rectangular or Cube Tank.
  • What best natural habitat can be provided? Add some natural stones, woods, Sands (Avoid colorful gravels). Always quarantine the stones, woods, Sands with warm water or aquatic conditioner.
  • After adding the objects into water change water at least 2-3 times or more depending upon the volume of the tank (Refer Tank cycling process).
  • Fish like clean water so must add a filter (sponge, power, HOB, Cannister), which will help to make the water clean and less maintenance.
  • Feed them good quality food on time, don’t over feed (weekly a day in hunger is good for fish health).
  • Do weekly water change (at least 30-50%).
  • Clean the filter and glass at least in a month.

    Advanced

    • If water is cold use a heater if hot then use a fan or chiller (Try to maintain a constant temperature).
    • Use good lights and try to use the lights who does have a dimmer. Any sudden on or off of the light leads to shock or make the fish into stress.
      Syphon the fish poop

    More Advanced

    • Mostly this level is for planted tank hobbyist, so here hobbyist needs to understand the science to have a better  aquarium or more closure to real nature. (understand Nitrogen cycle and photosynthesis)
    • Plants needs 6 things to grow better and do photosynthesis (Light, Soil, CO2, minerals, clean water and slightly cold water)
    • Light can be white or RGB or WRGB (needs to understand spectrums of light)
    • Before planting need to understand each plants behavior/Need ex:- low light, Moderate light or high light)
    • Best to use aquatic soils for better aeration for roots and flexible movements with proper grip. Though one can start with Garden soil but it needs special care and maintenance.
    • CO2 is a vital factor and one of the most herculean task in fish hobby. Consult with some professional or hobbyists who already installed the CO2 systems.
    • Plant absorb minerals from 2 source from root and leaves, (Fertilizers like Potassium, Iron, Nitrogen, Phosphorus and other trace elements needed)
Filtration needed with multiple layers (Mechanical, chemical, biological)
Last is water needs to be cooler (24-26 degree) for better plant growth, best it have a aquarium fans or a chiller)

    Pro

    • No one is pro in this hobby, there is always a learning and lots of experiments.

Thank you and have a happy aquascaping.
